Frequently asked questions about women's health

Do you offer same-day appointments for urgent concerns?
Often, yes — call the office and we'll do our best to fit you in. Many concerns, like a possible UTI, can also be handled quickly by telehealth.
What happens at a well-woman exam?
We review your health and family history, discuss any concerns, and perform age-appropriate screening, which may include a clinical breast exam and Pap testing. You're in control of every step.
Can you prescribe and manage birth control?
Yes. We counsel on the full range of contraception options and help you choose and manage the method that fits your body and your life.
Do you help with menopause and perimenopause symptoms?
Yes. We evaluate hot flashes, sleep changes, mood, and other symptoms and build a personalized plan that may include lifestyle, non-hormonal, or hormonal options.
How often do I need a Pap smear?
It depends on your age, history, and prior results — current guidelines space most women's Pap tests several years apart. We'll set the right schedule for you at your visit.
Can a nurse practitioner be my women's health provider?
Yes. A Family Nurse Practitioner can provide well-woman care, contraception, and menopause management in Florida, and coordinate with a gynecologist for anything that needs specialty care.
